DIRECTORS

Bill Concoff - Currently a member of the NATE (National Association of Temple Educators) executive board, in his 30th year as director. Bill was a unit head and song leader for Camp Akiba in its early years, from 1969 to 1973, before taking over as director in 1976. Bill has served several local congregations as Director of Education and Executive Director for the past 17 years.

Rick Degelsmith continues as Program Director after 3 decades of Camp Akiba experience during which he held nearly every job in camp. In "real-life", Rick continues to hold every important job: husband, dad, counselor, teacher, friend. Rick and his family are active members of Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, CA.

STAFF

All Camp Akiba counselors are trained through the camp's CIT (counselor-in-training) program, and 98 percent of counselors were Camp Akiba campers.
